Banksy is a pseudo-anonymous English graffiti artist known for his satirical artwork on politics, culture and ethics. His distinctive style of stencil graffiti has appeared on the streets of London and in cities around the world. On 27 April 2007, a new record high for the sale of his work was set with the auction of ‘Space Girl & Bird’ fetching £288,000, around 20 times the estimate at Bonhams of London.
